Infant Bow Tie - Free Crochet Pattern - Design by Stitch11

Infant Bow Tie Crochet Pattern

Stitches Used
CH – Chain
Slip Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
HDC – Half Double Crochet
DC – Double Crochet

Supplies
Medium/worsted weight yarn
5 MM crochet hook
Yarn needle
Small button (about 1 CM)

The Bow
Row 1: CH 25. Turn. Skip 1 CH. **DC in next 3 stitches. HDC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 2 stitches. HDC in next 2 stitches. DC in next 3 stitches. Repeat from ** one more time.
Row 2: CH 1, turn. **DC in next 3 stitches. HDC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 2 stitches. HDC in next 2 stitches. DC in next 3 stitches. Repeat from ** one more time.
Row 3: CH 1, turn. **DC in next 3 stitches. HDC in next 2 stitches. SC in next 2 stitches. HDC in next 2 stitches. DC in next 3 stitches. Repeat from ** one more time.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave the ends together. The SC stitches from each row should fold over to be on top of one another in the center of the bow.  Leaving the DC stitches on the sides of the bow.
Weave your yarn end towards the center of the bow. Wrap it around the center of the bow a few times.. Do not cut the remaining yarn off. You will use this to attach the bow to the band.
The Band
Make a CH that is 12-13 inches long. If you need to adjust the size, measure the neck and add about 2 inches. Keep in mind that this band will be adjustable. The button can slide between any stitch.
Turn, skip 1 CH and HDC into each of the remaining chains.
Finish off leaving a long enough tail to attach a button to the end.
Attach the bow to the center.

Hi there! I was wondering if you had a picture of what the button looks like when attached. Thanks!

I do not. If I make more I will try to get a photo of that side.

Yay, it turned out nicely thankyou! I was a bit confused til I realised you fold it in half at the end. I used stick-on Velcro instead of button for extra safety.

Are you supposed to do the bow as a continuous band slip stitching chains together at start? Or are you supposed to see the two ends together at completion? It just says to fold over and wrap around middle, per instructions (unless I read wrong) one end remains open.

Hello love the bow tie, I’m not getting a correct count, after the 25chs at the end there’s not 3 st to put 3dc

Count your stitches and chains carefully, I got the right count. Note that at the start of each row you only skip 1 chain (not 3 as you would do to make a rectangle of douche crochets)
