When posting the free pattern for the 6 month Owl Hat and Leg Warmers, I asked if anyone wanted a diaper cover pattern too. Since I have never made a diaper cover, I decided I should probably find a free pattern to help me learn the basic shapes before attempting my own. Thanks to Sarah, from Repeat Crafter Me, who gave me a link to Flowers Creations, I now can share with you this awesome free pattern for a crochet diaper cover.…
When following this Diaper Cover pattern, that is designed for 0-9 months, I used Red Heart yarn, navy blue with rows from 1-9. Then I switched to Delft Blue for rows 10- 26 and added an additional row of SC before finishing off and doing my trim. I used pink for the trim. Added a large pink button from Walmart. Very easy pattern to follow and super cute!!
Tip: When doing my decrease stitches, I did not do them on the edge, I went in one stitch before doing them. I find it to be easier to keep track of my stitches that way.
Once you diaper cover is finished, you will be ready for the owl face!

Ok so I am confused! this is supposed to be a pattern for diaper cover but I only see the ears, eyes & nose instruction, right?! oh man, where is the cutie patootie cover??
I have it linked at the top of this post. I had never made a diaper cover before so I decided to use someone elses free pattern. Sorry for the confusion
I made this owl set and I made the diaper cover like yours and it turned out sooo cute!!!!
I was wondering if this pattern could be done without the buttons? I like the owl diaper cover but I don’t like using buttons or ties.
