Sweetheart Love Flower

January 17, 2013 By Corina 23 Comments

sweetheart-love-flowers

This free crochet pattern for Sweetheart Love Flowers, was a lot of fun for me to design. After testing out the heart crochet patterns the other day, I knew I wanted to come up with my own unique way of crocheting a heart. My daughter is in love with these flowers. She barely let me weave in my ends before snatching them up. I hope you enjoy this pattern as much as we have. <3

Supplies

F-3.75 MM Crochet Hook
Caron Simply Soft medium weight yarn
Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Stitches

Magic Ring
Ch-Chain
HDC- Half Double Crochet
TR- Treble Crochet
Slip Stitch
Get Started!
Round 1: Magic Ring, CH 1, 10 HDC into magic ring, Pull ring tight, Join to top of first HDC. (10 stitches)

Round 2: **Slip stitch into next stitch.{{CH 2, TR, CH 2, HDC, CH 2, TR }} All in one stitch. CH 2, Slip stitch into same stitch, Slip stitch into next stitch. Repeat from ** 4 MORE times.

Finish off, Pull end through flower to the other side (the back of the flower)

Change Colors (attaching yarn into the bottom of a heart petal)

You will now slip stitch around the petals– Directions are below ย as Round 3

>>TIP: When slip stitching, slip stitch in the back loop only. When slip stitching into the center of the HDC you will be slip stitching into the part the HDC that you pulled through all 3 loops when making the HDC—– and remember, the slip stitch you do after the slip stitch into the HDC is a little tight, do not miss it!<<

Round 3: **Slip stitch into both chains of CH 2. Slip stitch into the TR, Slip stitch into each chain of the CH 2. Slip stitch into the center of the HDC, Slip stitch into both chains of CH 2. Slip stitch into the TR. Slip stitch into both chains of CH 2. Slip stitch into starting stitch (bottom of heart) Slip stitch into the bottom of the next heart. Repeat from ** around 4 more times. Finish off, Pull end through flower to the other side (the back of the flower)
Weave in your ends! ๐Ÿ˜€

These flowers are adorable and will look great in the garden of flowers I’m making into an afghan for my granddaughter when she turns three in June. I also want to tell you I love the Cleanprint option – I was able to save the pattern instead of printing it. I’m determined to get used to reading patterns on the laptop instead of printing them all. With the text document option, I’ll be able to edit as I go along using colors or highlighting to mark my place.

A viedo would be nice but I’m pretty sure I can do without. I may be new to the craft but I found that youtube viedos help. If you have a specfic stitch in mind you can watch and find plenty of help that way.

I’m sorry but I do not have a video tutorial. I hope to someday be able to make them with all of my patterns but I currently do not have everything needed to do so.

These are adorable! I love this yarn and these colors but for some reason WlMt has decided to only carry the muted colors. Do you know of a place online to get them all in one place? I live in the middle of nowhere so the closest yarn shop would probably be 90 miles away – thus my need for a good online supplier! lol

I bought this “Caron Simply Soft” at walmart.com. You really could use any yarn with the appropriate hook size for that yarn.

Thanks for the print options. I usually copy and paste patterns from the website into a document and send it to my Kindle so I can have the pattern on the go. This time all I ha d to do was click print and chose email from the list on the side. Much easier.
Can’t wait to try this pattern out. The flowers remind me of plastic flowers I made as a kid.

Cute flowers!! I have been looking for a flower pattern to make my prayer posies from. Thank you. I love your “email, pdf” system–made it so easy to save the pattern. Wish other websites would use that system.
