If you follow me on Facebook you probably already know I have been crocheting a variety of coasters. In the process I have created a  quick, simple, easy and free pattern for you of the ideal coaster.

Supplies:

F/5-3.75 mm hook
Medium weight/4 ply “I Love this Cotton”

Abbreviations:

CH – Chain
SC - Single Crochet
HDC – Half Double Crochet

Instructions:

Step 1: Magic circle

Step 2: CH 2, 9 HDC inside magic circle, connect to top of CH 2 (including the CH 2 you will have 10 HDC)

Step 3: CH 1, 2 SC in each HDC, Connect to first SC (20 SC)

Step 4: CH 1, 1 SC in each SC around, connect to first SC (20 SC)

Step 5: CH 2, HDC in same stitch, HDC in next stitch. * 2 HDC in next stitch, HDC in next stitch. Repeat from * around, connect to top of CH 2. (30 HDC including the CH 2)

Step 6: CH1,  2 SC in same stitch, 1 SC in next 2 stitches. *2 SC in next stitch, 1 SC in next 2 stitches. Repeat from * around. Connect to first SC (40 SC)

CHANGE COLORS

Step 7: CH 2, HDC in same stitch, HDC in next 3 stitches. * 2 HDC in next stitch, 1 HDC in next 3 stitches. Repeat from * around. Connect to top of CH 2 (50)

Step 8: CH 1, 2 SC in same stitch, 1 SC in next 4 stitches. *2 SC in next stitch, 1 SC in next 4 stitches. Repeat from * around. Connect to first SC (60 SC)

Step 9: Slip stitch around. Finish off.
