Army Newsboy

July 25, 2012 By Corina 13 Comments

When someone orders a special hat from me, I might as well make it a pattern to share with you. This Army Newsboy hat is size 0-3 months. It is really quick and simple to work up. I enjoy making these. With the simple change of colors, adding a stripe, a band with buttons, or a flower, you can create such a large variety of hats. I hope you enjoy making this cozy piece of wearable artwork as much as I do.

I started this hat at 1am and had the hat part done pretty quickly but I didnt really understand the brim part so I made it how I thought I read it and after making the whole brim I stared at it for a long time and determined it had to be wrong so I read the comments and there was nothing so I searched your other patterns and found your girls Newsboy hat and read the comments and figured out I was making a extended singe crochet. So I pulled the brim back out and made it again and finished the whole hat. Thank you so much for the cute pattern. I will eventually be posting this on my blog…after I get time to find my camera and then make a post. 😉 Thanks again!

I love this and your lion hat pattern! I’m making hats for all my nephews for Christmas, and my oldest would love this. Is there a way to adjust the pattern to fit a five year old? If its easy adjustments I could make the same one for his 3 year old brother in a different colour too 🙂

Here is one of my larger sizes http://stitch11.com/newsie-with-fish/ Its made the same but I switched colors while making it. I also have newsie duck hats in 12 months and toddler sizes (you could use the pattern to make just the newsie)

Is your pattern for a girls “newsboy” hat different from this one for a boy?
    Thanks
