How to Crochet a Belt

How to Crochet a Belt

Okay, so yesterday I bought myself a new dress. I tried it on in the dressing room and fell in love. But when I got home it was a different story… I realized the dress was actually a bit big on me and the tiny braided belt that came with it wasn't really helping. Before I cried, I decided to have a go at crocheting a belt! I am so thankful for this crochet talent! It has saved me money so many times!! I decided to write out the belt pattern as I went so I could share it with all of you <3 Enjoy!

Thank you for the belt pattern. I’ve been looking for a pattern for a narrow crocheted belt. It’s impossible to buy a belt to fit certain sizes. Do you have any suggestions for a stretchy fashionable yarn and pattern?
    Thank you for your help.

I’m so glad you did this! I have been looking for a belt recently, and I didn’t really like what I saw, and many were overpriced. I thought I’d like to crochet one, but then I forgot about it (my 2-year old is a terrible sleeper). I can’t wait to try this! What yarn did you use?

I really have no clue what the yarn was.. it was one that was given to me. I am pretty sure it was wool though.

Please what does DEC mean? And I don’t really get the joining of the 2 loops and starting the row 1 from there

I’m not quite getting step 3 for the belt loop, I keep getting thrown by ‘Not through a stitch, but over/around the entire loop’ do you mean going through the back/front loop?
