Stash Bustin’ Dahlia In A Square

February 26, 2013 By Corina 11 Comments

Stash Busting Daliah In A Square

After completing my last free crochet pattern, the Stash Bustin' Crochet Flower in a Square, I decided I would make a few of these adorable flowers as squares. This Dahlia is based off of a personal favorite crochet pattern of mine, Autumn Flower.  Like the previous crochet Square, this one also measures around 4.5 inches and with the same amount of stitches. Happy Hookin'!

Crochet Supplies:

I used 4.25 MM hook
Medium Weight Yarn
Yarn Needle for weaving in ends

Crochet Abbreviations:

CH – Chain
SC- Single crochet
HDC – Half double crochet
TRE- Treble crochet
DTR – Double Treble Crochet

How to Crochet in Front or Back Loops Only

Get started!!

Magic circle

Round 1: CH 1, 12 DC inside Magic circle , slip stitch into first DC
(Working in back loop of round 1 only)
Round 2: CH 1, SC in next 12 stitches around and connect to first SC.
change colors
(In back loop of round 2 only)
Round 3:*CH 4, DTR in same stitch, CH 4, slip stitch in same stitch, slip stitch in next stitch. Repeat from * around for 12 pedals. Once you reach your first pedal slip stitch into the front loop.
(In front loop of round 2 only)
Round 4:*CH 3, TRE in same stitch, CH 3, slip stitch in same stitch, slip stitch in next stitch. Repeat from * around for 12 pedals. Once you reach your first pedal of that row, slip stitch into the front loops of the first round.
(In front loop of round 1 only)
Round 5:*CH 2, DC in same stitch, CH 2, slip stitch in same stitch, slip stitch in next stitch. Repeat from * around for 12 pedals. Slip stitch in the first loop with your first pedal of that row. Finish off.

Change colors (I used pink) and attach yarn to DTR of round 3 (center
stitch of a pedal.)

Round 6: CH 1,** HDC in same stitch. CH 3, HDC into next DTR of next
pedal. Repeat from ** around. Join to first HDC (12 HDC)

Round 7: Slip stitch into CH space. CH 1, **6 HDC in same CH space.
6 HDC into next CH space. {{3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC}} all in next CH space. Repeat from ** around Join to first HDC.

Finish off and weave in your ends

Beautiful. You wouldn’t happen to have a 9×9 square working on blankets for charity’s. Thanks

Hi Michelle! No I am sorry I only have squares that measure around 4.5 inches. Good luck finding some though! maybe next time I go on a square kick I will make them larger!

I do not have pdf option unless you are talking about the clean print located at the bottom of the pattern?
