With Halloween coming up my mind has been thinking up costume ideas. This is one of the simpler designs that I have been storing in my head. Luckily, after making the eye patch, both of my nieces said they wanted to be girl pirates. (But we all know how many times kids change their minds lol) This free crochet pattern  is designed for a child but could easily be modified for a toddler or an adult.

Depending on the size of the hair tie and who will be wearing the eye patch, you may want to increase or decrease the amount of Chains in the next step.Â
Round 5: Slip Stitch into next 6 stitches, CH 33. Slip stitch onto the small hair tie, Skip one CH and Slip stitch back up the CH. Now once you get back to the eye patch, you will start where you left off and slip stitch the next 16 stitches. CH 33. Slip stitch onto the small hair tie, Skip one CH and Slip stitch back up the CH. Now once you get back to the eye patch, you will start where you left off and slip stitch. Now slip stitch the rest of the way around the eye patch and finish off. The picture below is of poor quality. Please excuse it. I didn't have the heart to make my nieces leave without the eye patch so I could charge the camera and get a better picture.
Thanks for the pattern Corina! I modified it slightly, sc/hdc instead of hdc/dc for a smaller eye patch, but it worked up beautifully! The eye patch works perfectly with my family’s pirate themed Halloween.
That is fantastic to hear!! Thanks for coming by! 🙂
Thanks so much for the pattern! Our 4yo is doing a pirate theme at school and she wanted a baby blue eye patch to wear. She will be perfectly dressed now!
