Free Eyeball Crochet Pattern- Family Fun

June 21, 2014 By Corina 5 Comments

Free Crochet Eyeball Pattern

I wanted to crochet something to have an excuse to not only get out and find fun ways to use it, but also to have a need to go back to the craft store for more safety eyes! 😉

I bought the safety eyes at Hobby Lobby. They come in packs of 4-8 for about 99 cents – $1.50 a package. These are 15 mm eyes.

To crochet the eyes I used Red Heart Super Saver (worsted) yarn. I used a size E hook (3.5 mm).

Step 1: 6 SC into a magic circle. (Do not pull your ring completely closed, you will want to put the safety eyes through the hole, just not yet)
Step 2: 2 SC into each of the 6 SC from previous step.
Step 3-4: 1 SC into each of the 12 stitches.
Step 5: Put your safety eyes on and pull your ring tight.
Step 6: Make a total of 6 SC DEC.
Stuff the eyeball with cotton or scrap yarn.  Weave in your yarn end!

So much fun and they work up within a minute or two each!

This last one is my favorite. I wish I could have sat around waiting for someone to go into it! Btw, I did NOT do this one, my husband did. I refuse to walk into those things… I am a wuss and always feel like a snake will fly out of it! haha!

This is so fun! I’m stuck between the eyeballs in between the two plates and the eyeballs in the tree.

Thanks for sharing! And spreading some smiles.

FUN IDEA!!! Going to do this around town!! HEE HEE how are you attaching the eyes? I know some of the places you can just set them in place. I’m thinking some tack it over and over glue on the base of the eye would keep it in place for a little while on places like gas pumps. I’m thinking of several places around town on our main avenue like the pole at the ice cream shop … also thinking about the top of the control pad at the bowling alley. EYE’ve got to get to stitching some and stocking my purse so I’ll have them at the ready LOL 🙂 Thanks for the pattern and the FUN idea!!
