Everyday as I walk through my house I point out my daughters play area to her and say “What a mess!” All while ignoring my overflowing, tangled, intertwined, and beautiful yarn stash of a mess I make myself. I pulled everything off of my card (yarn) table and decided to tackle this puzzle I had created. But where do I start????
First step I made was to put all of my finished crochet items into one very large bag. If I get much more, I will be using a lawn trash bag. Hoping that one day I will have enough to participate in a craft fair. 😀
Next, I put all of my unfinished projects into this bag. But this bag is not only unfinished, but also never to be finished. These items are the things that I started and then decided that it was not worth completing. So I guess this is really a bag of emergency yarn.
Since I only have one tote, I like to fill it with the large, bulky, and easy to make messy skeins.
My cotton yarns. If you look in the bag on the left you will notice yarn inside of a zip lock bag. For some reason after buying the yarn, once I got home I realized it smelled like menthol. So, until it gets washed, its staying sealed up.
Simply soft on the left. Acrylic balls on the right.
Left over yarn thread from the Pansy Doily.
Hooks, plastic and metal crochet needles, scissors, and some knitting needles I probably will never use.
Bag of non yarn ,crafty crochet supplies.
And wallah! As organised as its going to get with what I have to work with. I wonder how long this will last. :O
OMG KOWEENA!
I really need to do that to my craft closet!!!! Good job!!
I wanted to let you know that the cotton yarn in the ziplock bag is scented yarn! I also bought it to make an swim suit wrap and thought my daughter had put on some weird lotion. I kept asking her what she was wearing…lol. Finally I figured out it was the yarn. And when I looked at the label, sure enough it said scented on it.
Bahahah that is so funny! Every time I buy yarn now I smell it. Why would they make such a stinky scented yarn? They should make it smell like cake! lol
Ahhh Corina, you may have only been crocheting for a year and a half but you already have grown a fairly nice stash there. It’s like an illness if you’re not careful. You’ll start looking for yarn everywhere you go and convincing yourself that since it’s on sale, it’s OK to buy it even if you don’t have a project waiting.
“Scented yarn” that smells like menthol? Why in the world would anyone market new yarn that smells like grandma’s old moth-ball scented stash? I’m with you, it should smell like cake. Or at least some pricey perfume or other pleasant scent.
Ok I obviously have an issue because I look for yarn EVERYWHERE, including going to goodwill and going thru the sweaters to see about taking it apart when goodwill has no yarn…besides that I have 4 tubs FULL of yarn and still buy… 😀 but I love the plastic case for your needles, where did you get that? The menthol scented yarn.. yuk.. should smell like flowers…lol
I bought it at walmart in the craft section 🙂
lol for some strange reason I smell yarn, not sure why,but i havent came across any scented ones yet…
