Turban for Miss Happy

February 2, 2013 By Corina 8 Comments

Turban-for-Miss-Happy

While I was designing my last free ear warmer crochet pattern, Forever Tiffani, a friend of mine requested I make her an ear warmer also. She liked the simple but unique style of the Forever Tiffani but wasn't too fond of the bulky knot at the top or the fact that she would have to fold the piece before putting it onto her head. So with her help, I present to you…… ***drum roll please***….. The Turban for Miss Happy!  Miss Happy is perfect for everyone! It's thick and warm but it's not bulky! It's so easy to make and it's stylish and unique! The person wearing the ear warmer will NOT need to fold the item at all to get this folded look— Making this my favorite free crochet turban ear warmer pattern EVER!

Crochet Supplies

N-9.00MM hook
Red Heart Love (Medium Weight) I used two strands… both ends of one skein.
Yarn needle (for weaving in ends)

Crochet Stitches

CH- Chain
HDC- Half Double Crochet
Slip stitch

Start Crocheting!

Using TWO strands at once (I used both ends of one skein)

Row 1: CH 11, Skip 2 CH, HDC across (11 HDC including the 2 Chains)
Row 2-37: CH 1,Turn, HDC across (11 HDC) repeat row 2 for a total of
37 rows or until you have a piece 20 inches long

Fold piece one time before joining both ends. Join with a slip stitch and then weave in your ends!

This Clover Thread and Yarn Cutter Pendant, Antique Silver by Clover is perfect for those of us who crochet on the go! There aren't many things more frustrating than having to carry and grab a pair of scissors for each time you need to cut the yarn. The greatest thing about this pendant is that you can put it on your key chain, a necklace, or even hook it onto your Art Bin Yarn Drum!

Thank you so much for sharing your headband pattern. It reminds me of an infinity scarf, I’m going to try to connect it in this way. It should work and I won’t have to worry about the fold.

This headband doesn’t have to be folded to put on… or are you speaking about “Forever Tiffany” I love that headband too! Would love to see what you come up with!

Yes it will work, It will be thinner and slightly shorter but it should work just fine.

Thanks for the pattern. Its summer in San Francisco and looks ridiculous when I wear my ear muffs. So today as I was walking home in the chill, I was thinking maybe I should make a ear warmer that looks like a turban (cos i look good in turbans) and here it was. Thanks.

I am trying to understand how and where to ‘fold’ one side down and then stitch together the ends? It is really hard to see the black headband in the picture. Thank you!

You just twist the headband once before joining both ends together 🙂
