Fringe
Cut 10 inch long pieces of yarn. You will need around 120 pieces. Taking two pieces at a time, fold in half, insert yarn through a stitch on the end of the scarf, pull yarn through by the fold of the pieces creating a loop, hook onto the end of the pieces and pull through the loop. Tug to tighten. Repeat every stitch on both ends of the scarf. Trim the edges as needed.

I am stuck on row 7. I have frogged multiple times so far and every time my numbers are correct up until I have to do the 31 DC. I end up having 2 extra stitches left. Please help!

I think row 7 is wrong because you only make 25 stitches in row 6 so theres no way to have 31dc in row 7

Nevermind. My mistake lol. I was doing 3 DC instead of a cluster so it was adding stitches. Ooops.

I had wondered if people would do this. Glad you figured it out!

I was doing this too. Traditionally a 3dc cluster is 3 dc in 1 stitch.

The proper instruction for what you are trying to achieve is 3 dc tog in sc… this instruction would give the fullness of 3dc but one 1 stitch space moving forward andyou end with the proper count

Could this be done without the fringe? What would you suggest as a finish in that case?

How do you do the 3dc cluster stitch? Is it 3dc all together or 3dc in 1st.?

It’s like doing a 3 double crochet decrease in one stitch.

November 17th was my friend Mary Ann’s 61st birthday. Sadly she passed away on June 17th, 2016, she loved dragonflies. I am going to make this in Red Heart Unforgettable-Dragonfly as a Christmas present for her mother.

If I were to make this for a child, ages 8 and 10, how many times do I repeat, instead of 9 times?

For a child, I would do the same width but make it a foot or so shorter.

Love all of your patterns. I have 7 grandchildren, 5 of them are girls. This year I am making them ponchos and hats for Christmas and your patterns are making out easier for me.
    Thank you

Does the chain 2 at the beginning of each row count as a dc in the first stitch or are you doing a dc in that stitch?
