Are you using the right hook and same yarn I used?

Yup, i don’t know if they way I was holding it was stretching it or what, but the finished product was falling off my three year old. I’m making another one and just did about half the number of stitches…seems to be working 🙂

I agree I’m using the car in simply soft along with my size G hook and when I piece the two together it’s big enough to fit me and I’m a grown woman.

I agree Simply Soft is a soft worsted weight (medium-4) yarn that USUALLY works out smaller. But this is still turning out way too big for a 0-3 month size. I wanted it bigger than 3 months anyway but not this big.
The pattern is still cute and at least she can grow into it! Thank you for making it a free option! :o)

So I just tried this, 70 chs with the soft acrylic yarn using a 4.25 hook got me 16″, the average size of a 0-3 month old head is 13-14.5 inches.
    15-16.5″ is 6-12 months
    16-18″ for a 12-24 month old.
The crown is beautiful but the measurements seem much bigger than a 0-3 month old, 16″ plus stretching would fit a 12-24 month old.

Thank you for posting this pattern! I am going to be working with it to make several different sizes anyways. For a 0-3 month old I would chain to about 13″, with the stretch it should fit prefect!

I used simply soft… which works up smaller than the average acrylic.

Love this tiara! Mine turned out exactly the right size. 0-3 months. I added jewels to it and did it in royal purple. I will definitely use this pattern again! Thank you!

I just came across this crown on Pinterest. Oh my!! I have 2 granddaughters, ages 5 and 6, who would DIE to have one!!! Can anyone figure out how to make it in that size??? I can crochet, but I cannot figure out stuff like that myself. I hope so much that you can….and will. I would love to make them these crowns for Christmas. Thank you…….Linda

Is it okay that the ottomh of my crown flares out?? I have tried this patter twice now, and both times he bottom of the crown turns out to be much wider than the top part, if you know what I mean…..

Hmm.. If I were to make one now, I honestly would start with the FSC (foundation single crochet) that would make it so the CH doesnt make it tighter at the bottom.

Just wanted to say a big thank you for your gorgeous crown pattern, I’m a novice crocheted, but I managed to make one for my two week old granddaughter in under an hour. I have some photos, but I haven’t figured out how to add them to your page.

I feel TOTALLY stupid now. All I had to do was continue reading for the Puff Stitch. And it’s looking aDORable! Newbie royalty will love it — or at least her parents S will! Sorry. 😉
