Holiday season is rolling around. You’re probably excited to start working on a bunch of crochet projects for friends and family. Stitch 11 has a ton of fun gift ideas but I’ve been really excited for the Beanie Hat.

This crochet hat is perfect for so many reasons. It’s made using a beautiful daisy stitch with a pom pom on top. And it has a ribbed trim around the bottom which makes it nice and stretchy to help fit any sized head. If you enjoy working with a variety of crochet stitches, I highly recommend the Ultimate Crochet Stitch Library which includes 45 professionally filmed stitch tutorials.

The beanie is worked using a 100% merino wool yarn in a beautiful silver color. This shade is so stunning. It’s subtle and fun and perfect for men or women.

The Cascade 220 Superwash Merino
yarn is so warm and durable. It’s machine washable so you could wear it on a fall hayride or on the ski slopes this winter. It would make a perfect stocking stuffer or a fun secret Santa gift.

The pattern:

Hat Ribbing

Ch 13.

Row 1: Sc into the second ch from the hook and into each st across – 12 sts

Rows 2-89: Ch 1, turn. Sc blo into each st across.

Turn and rotate the ribbed cuff portion you’ve completed. You’ll now start working across the long side of the ribbing.

Upper Hat

Row 1: Sc into the end of each row across – 89 sc

Row 2: Make a beginning star st, work star sts across, hdc in last st (same st as the last loop of the last star). 44 star sts

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in first st. sc in the eye of the first star st. 2 sc in the eye of each star st across, sc in the last st – 89 sts

Rows 4-19: Repeat Rows 2 and 3

Fold hat in half, right side facing in, and sew together from ribbing to top of beanie. Turn hat right side out. Cut a 24” piece of yarn. Using the needle with the yarn in it, weave the yarn in and out of the top edge of the hat all the way around (every few stitches) until you’re around the entire top. Cinch the two ends of the yarn together so that the top edge of the hat all comes together. When you’ve got it pulled as tight as you can, knot the yarn together and weave the yarn ends into the hat.

Pom Pom
Wrap yarn around a 7” piece of cardboard 70 times. Tie a piece of yarn tightly around the middle. Trim sides of pom pom to liking and attach at the top of the hat. Weave in all ends.

Adult Duo-Tone Beanie Crochet Pattern

If you’re looking for a bright start to those dull winter mornings, the Adult Duo-Tone Beanie is the perfect project for you.

It’s made out of a strong 100% highland wool yarn. It’s super warm and comes in a golden yellow color paired with a soft grey.

I love this hat because it’s the perfect gift for a friend who needs a little brightness in their life. A pop of color is a simple way to feel more energized and excited about the day.

It’s also so easy to work this beanie crochet pattern. You only have to work one color change and make a pom pom. Everything else is really simple.

This is a pattern you can sit back and make while watching your favorite show.

Make one for yourself or make a friend a special gift to let them know you care. It’s fast and easy to make, and really thoughtful.

And if you don’t like yellow, the Blue Sky Woolstok yarn comes in a bunch of other shades too. It’s all about making a hat you’ll love.

24 How to Crochet a Beanie for Teens Tutorials #crochethat #crochetbeanies #crochetslouchie #crochetpatterns

Hats, glorious hats. We really love hats. They keep your head warm. They make you look cute. And they’re super fun and easy to make.

We’ve got shell patterned hats. We’ve got camo hats. We’ve got fun, slouchy beanies. Any type of beanie that you would want, we’ve got it for you to choose from. We even have a BB-8 hat.

There’s no way the teen or kid in your life won’t love the hat you pick out for them. It’s even more special when you’ve made it yourself.

You’ll probably want to make one of these hats for yourself, too. You can match with whoever you’re making the hat for. Get ready to get your head in the game.

Simple Double Brim Hat

The simple double brim hat is – as it says – very simple: it’s entirely made of single crochet stitches which makes it a great project for beginners as well. The pattern works up quite fast because the hat is made with a big crochet hook. The hat keeps your ears double warm and looks great when using another color on the inside.

Plaid Slouchy Hat

This hat is almost ALL dc stitches (yay!) and works up pretty quickly. The color changes can slow you down a bit, but this hat was made in just a couple hours.

Super Quick Fair Isle Beanie

Fair isle crochet involves creating colored designs and shapes in the background of your project. It’s a very savvy crochet technique to learn because you work behind the background to create the shapes vs casting on and off. The motifs incorporated into the background are simple yet unique.
