When thinking up this Toddler Shell Beanie pattern, I was planning on adding ear flaps, braids, and a flower. But I decided to leave it as a beanie because the shell stitch is so pretty on its own and with the way I changed colors, I didn't want it to be too busy. I may try this again sometime just using one or two colors.. and then adding the braids and flower.

For my 27th birthday, my totally flippin awesome friend, Andrea, bought be an Art Bin Yarn Drum!! This is the greatest bag for not only traveling, but also for around the house. My daughter, Ella, is just under two. She always has sticky fingers and is always trying to get tangled up in my yarn. It has become a game for her. But for some reason, she knows to stay out of this bag. Lets just hope it stays that way! I would highly recommend this bag to all of my crochet buddies!
How adorable would this newborn witch hat be as a photo prop or even as part of a little costume?? You could easily modify this for a baby boy by adding stars and making this a wizard hat. Here is a quick and simple pattern that I have been sitting on for about 3 months. Finally retested a few times and have everything perfected and simplified for you. This hat is adorable and very comfy! Add your favorite flower, stripes, or a simple band to spice the hat up a little.
After crocheting up my Simple Dishcloths, I HAD to test them out!!! Not only are they truly amazing with dishes but I actually loved it for ME in the shower too!! Yeah, I know, I know… I didn't think I would like it but I was wrong! I have been told many times by many people that I should start making washcloth sets. The thought of washing with a crocheted cotton washcloth did not sound very pleasant. Last week, the hubs and I took the kids to a nearby Canal Days where I seen many stands selling handmade items. At one of the stands there were loads of crocheted and knitted washcloths. When I picked one up and felt the light way texture I knew instantly that I had to make some DISH CLOTHS. Why I did not think of dish rags instead of washcloths in the first place, I have no idea, but these babies are genius!! Enjoy this FREE and simple dish cloth pattern!
Dish Cloth Crochet Pattern
When designing my Child Size Slouchy Hat, I had so much fun with the pattern and the hat turned out so beautiful, I knew I had to make one for me too. This free pattern is very easy to follow and its simply the perfect slouch hat!
I was very pleased and surprised at how quickly I received my Sharp Crochet Hook. As soon as I opened the light weight package, I noticed it even included some GREAT patterns to help me get started. Not only did they come with the hook. But you can also find them on the Sharp Crochet Hook website.
Next, I wanted to test out how strong the hook was. So, I grabbed a welders sleeve (my husband is a fabricator) And worked a simple SC around the sleeve with the hook. And of coarse I unraveled it before he could see it, I do not think he would want to wear ruffles to work. 😉
Since the Sharp Crochet Hook worked so easy into the welders sleeve, I knew I had many options of what I could create first. I really really really want to make my daughter, Ella, and I both aprons and decorate the edges with pretty yarn using the Sharp Crochet hook. BUT I really do not like sewing so I will wait until I find a good deal on some already made (or beg my sis to help me make them ;)) Next up on the list was to crochet edging on my daughters pillow case to match her V stitch blanket I made her. 😀 And it worked up beautiful!
The Sharp Crochet Hook is a very small hook…. but I was still able to use simply soft with ease. I also tested out sport weight yarn with it and it worked great!! I would still like to try using some crochet thread when using it 🙂 Maybe for those aprons! I will let you all know how it works out for me. I would highly recommend the Sharp Crochet Hook to anyone who crochets and likes to try new things, and also anyone who plans on using any type of fabric with their crochet skills.

My daughter is in love with her new Wicked Wizard Witches Hat! I designed this hat just for her, and she knew it! She barely let me even finish the hat before ripping it out of my hands. With Halloween coming up my mind has been thinking up costume ideas. This is one of the simpler designs that I have been storing in my head. Luckily, after making the eye patch, both of my nieces said they wanted to be girl pirates. (But we all know how many times kids change their minds lol) This free crochet pattern is designed for a child but could easily be modified for a toddler or an adult.
I made this Newborn/Preemie, free crochet turtle photo prop for my beautiful nephew Hunter. He was born 10 weeks early weighing only 3 lbs. He is doing great! And so is the momma.
