With a simple color change you can create such a variety of styles and looks. Add a Mohawk or a beautiful flower to personalize your creation. After creating The Mighty Jungle I knew I would be making more. But like any yarnist, I always want to improve with each project I throw myself into. I knew I wanted to improve the mane on this pattern, along with a few minor tweaks to the features.
A few weeks ago my nieces were at my house visiting. It was a hot day so I decided to give them each a Popsicle as they were about to leave. When my Sister was putting her girls in their car seats one of them cried out “Its burning me!!!” So I created this free Popsicle cozy pattern 🙂 I'm amazed with all the things you can create with yarn. Its yarntastic!
Today I am making my daughter a princess crown. I was following my older pattern when I realized I needed to make a couple small improvements. I hope you enjoy this one even more than the last. Also, check out the Kings Crown and the 0-3 month Princess Crown.

skip stitch, 2 HDC in next stitch- CH 2- 2 HDC(all in one stitch), skip stitch, slip stitch

Turn, slip stitch in back across to the back of the crown but when you reach every CH 2 space on the top of each point you ~Slip stitch in Ch 2 space, CH 2, PS, Ch 2, Slip stitch in same CH 2 space~ (To do the puff stitch you need to yarn over, put hook in stitch, yarn over, pull through, repeat two more times, pulling yarn through a total of 7 hoops)
Finish off.
Beautiful dahlias for Mothers Day!! For each stem I just used 3 pipe cleaners and twisted one end into a loop to make my Magic circle. Once the middle of the flower was crocheted, I twisted the loop a little more to make it tighter and closed.
This morning Ella and I walked to a tea party with my sister and my two nieces. I decided to make another sun hat for Ella, to match her outfit. With this hat I used my Peach Happy pattern but instead of using acrylic I used Peaches and Creme Cotton yarn. It turned out soooo adorable!

This lovely lion hat pattern is in size 0-3 months. In this photo, it is being worn by a life size newborn doll <3 Looks so real doesn't it?! After searching the web for hockey helmets, I decided to give it a try. This free pattern is for size 12 months. In this picture, my daughter is wearing it and she is 15 months old. Since its made from cotton, it stretches real nice. This is not one of my easiest paterns to follow. So, if anyone has any questions I would be more than happy to help all that I can. Earlier this week I decided to cut a plastic table cloth into plarn. I basically did what Creative Jewish Mom did with her sheets but without the ripping. While cutting my plarn I was brainstorming for ideas of what I could use it for other than the basic idea of a shopping bag. My first thought was a head band, but that wouldn't be very comfy. So then I am thinking… hmmm, maybe a plastic bag dispenser… but I really love the way my plastic bag dispensers turned out made from regular yarn. So then I am looking on the web and around the house.. hmmm, what would be good made from plastic. a frisbee? Maybe?! Then I realized how great a ninja star would fly if it were plastic. So that is what I did 🙂 Plarntastic!! Its not as safe and pain free, when getting hit in the face, as the acrylic ninja star. But it floats! This will always be packed in our beach bag!

4 ply worsted weight yarn ( I think “I Love This Yarn” is what works best for a snug fit but “Peaches and Cream” works better for those bigger heads ;))

I used 7 strands of yarn and weaved them in and out every 2 stitches in row 10. Make sure you leave a little slack so the hat can stretch over the child's head.
When visiting with family on Easter, I asked my gramma what she would like for me to make for her. She said “A doily” :O Im sure she seen the panic on my face because she quickly said “..or anything.” But after I found this beautiful FREE Pansy Doily pattern on Ravelry, I couldn't resist. The flowers are simply gorgeous!

I have so many ideas for my scrap yarn. Today I attempted to show the beauty of scrap yarn through a hand towel. Although I absolutely love the colors, I don't really care for the pattern I came up with. I hope to have a better one soon to write out for my crochet friends.
