Little Bigfoot Lion – Review- Free Pattern

January 21, 2015 By stitch11 Leave a Comment

Free Lion Crochet Pattern

As many of you already know, my boss is a 4 year old little girl. She likes looking over my shoulder while I adore patterns by other designers.

Yesterday, she fell in love with all the Little Big Foot animals, designed by Amiguruimi To Go. But when she laid her eyes on the lion- I was given the color directions and told to get to work! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Click HERE for the free lion pattern.

The pattern worked up very quickly and so much easier than it would appear. The lion is the perfect size! Not so big that your fingers will feel like they are going to fall off, and not too small that it looks sloppy. It's the PERFECT size! I found no flaws and have nothing negative to say about this pattern. I loved it every step of the way! Thanks so much for the awesome pattern Amigurumi To Go!

Crochet A Skunk!

January 17, 2015 By stitch11 4 Comments

Free Skunk Crochet Pattern

Suppliesย
Yarn Bee – Cameo Bulky- One skein of white. One skein of black.
J/10-6.00 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
Batting/stuffing
Two 15mm Safety Eyes
Medium/worsted weight yarn in both black and white. (This is for the ears and the tail)
Dog Brush (For brushing the tail)
Small amount of felt for the heart nose.
Hot glue gun for adding the nose.

Stitches
Magic Circle
SC -Single Crochet
SC DEC – Single Crochet Decrease
HDC – Half Double Crochet
DC – Double Crochet

Tip: When changing colors mid-way through a round/row, before you pull your yarn through your last stitch, switch colors and pull it through the two loops. This will not count as your first stitch of your new color. It will give your stitches a clean color change.
You will carry the color you are not using along by crocheting over the yarn strand.
If this is confusing – Check out this tutorial by Moogly. Although please note- with this your will crochet over the unused yarn instead of dropping it behind the stitches.

Finish off leaving long tail. Lightly stuff and attach to the body of your skunk.

Making the Skunk Tail

The first thing you will need to do is look at my review for the Fox Tail. You will be making the skunk tail the same way. But, you will be tying the yarn on in the skunk tail pattern (with a white stripe down the middle). You will start with a 5 inch braid using 6 strands of the black medium/worsted yarn.

-Attach the tail using your yarn needle.
-Cut felt into the shape of a heart and hot glue it on for the nose.ย

Free Turtle Pattern – Review

August 16, 2014 By stitch11 1 Comment

Free Turtle Pattern - Review-

I wanted to make my daughter a turtle family. ย She has decided that she wants to “collect” them. I am sure she will collect these just like every other animal she can think of. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I searched online for free patterns for a good hour! Once I finally found this cute pattern, I knew it was the one because it was simple enough to be able to make my own adjustments.

To get the different sizes, I just used different yarn weights with the appropriate hook size. I may also try out some bulky yarn tonight!

I did add an additional SC row at the end of the head/neck. I also made tails for the turtles… each one I did differently or I would share with ย you how I did them. I love this pattern!! ย I can easily finish a turtle in about an hour or two.. depending on how many times I have to be a mom while I am trying to crochet. Haha!

Free Eyeball Crochet Pattern- Family Fun

June 21, 2014 By stitch11 5 Comments

Free Crochet Eyeball Pattern

I wanted to crochet something to have an excuse to not only get out and find fun ways to use it, but also to have a need to go back to the craft store for more safety eyes! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I bought the safety eyes at Hobby Lobby. They come in packs of 4-8 for about 99 cents – $1.50 a package. These are 15 mm eyes.

To crochet the eyes I used Red Heart Super Saver (worsted) yarn. I used a size E hook (3.5 mm).

Step 1: 6 SC into a magic circle. (Do not pull your ring completely closed, you will want to put the safety eyes through the hole, just not yet)
Step 2: 2 SC into each of the 6 SC from previous step.
Step 3-4: 1 SC into each of the 12 stitches.
Step 5: Put your safety eyes on and pull your ring tight.
Step 6: Make a total of 6 SC DEC.
Stuff the eyeball with cotton or scrap yarn. ย Weave in your yarn end!

So much fun and they work up within a minute or two each!

This last one is my favorite. I wish I could have sat around waiting for someone to go into it! Btw, I did NOT do this one, my husband did. I refuse to walk into those things… I am a wuss and always feel like a snake will fly out of it! haha!

Dragon for the Princess -Free Crochet Pattern – Review

June 5, 2014 By stitch11 3 Comments

Free Dragon Crochet Pattern

My daughter always knows exactly what she wants. This time she asked me to get her a pet dragon. So after searching the web she decided on this fun little crochet dragon pattern byย Angry Angel on Craftster.

It didn't take long before I realized it wasn't a pattern that I could shut off my brain while crocheting. If you want to make this dragon, you will want to know the basics of crochet before starting. She does explain everything fairly well.. and leaves room for your own creativity.

I added flames for the mouth. I did this by attaching some yarn below the nostrils and then combing them out. I was very surprised at how easy it was to do.

Overall, the pattern only took me a few hours to work up! I will give this one 4.5 stars.. it would have been 5 but like I said.. I had to use my brain at some points ;). I love it! I plan on making more in the future!

Seven Little Animals - Free Crochet Patterns-

I love crocheting little animals. Each one I make- makes me love it even more. I eventually want a huge collection of animals that will never be allowed to be thrown away (like store bought stuffies).

The latest requests from my daughter is a cow puppet- to go with the puppy puppet I have already made her. She also wants a rat, baby cow, and a fish. ๐Ÿ™‚ I love that she puts in her requests and admires everything I make her. <3

These patterns are all designed or reviewed by me. Hopefully it won't be long and I can add many more to this adorable and fun little animal list!

Boinky the Baby Pig

May 15, 2014 By stitch11 9 Comments

Boinky The Baby Pig - Free Crochet Pattern

The idea of Boinky the Baby Pig came from my daughter- like most of my designs. We like to browse images of adorable animals. When we came across someย  baby pigs, she was taken over by their major cuteness. After looking at about 3,476 baby pigs, she asked me to make her one. She told me it's name would be Boinky. So there ya have it, a free crochet pattern for this adorable and simple baby piglet.

Baby Unicorn – Free Crochet Pattern – Review

May 13, 2014 By stitch11 1 Comment

Baby Unicorn - Free Crochet Pattern - Review

After browsing the internet for hours, looking for a new best friend I could crochet for my daughter, I finally found this adorable free baby unicorn pattern by Little Yarn Friends.

I quickly search her Ravelry account so I could see what others had created with this pattern. It was so fun looking through the photos and seeing how unique each version was because of simple color changes.

I instantly knew what yarn I was going to use! The left over Bernat Satin yarn I had from the Ruffle Crochet Skirt I had made. I paired it with a creme colored Caron Simply Soft.

I really didn't make any changes to the pattern-ย  other than I added beans to the bottom of each foot. It was so cute watching my 3 year old run around with this unicorn… and it's legs flopping all around.

My daughter really loves this unicorn. She named it “My Little Pony.” It has not left her side since the moment after I took the photo. <3

I give this pattern 5 gold stars ๐Ÿ™‚ It has such a unique and simplified beauty- yet leaves room for your creative side to have lots of fun.

Weight Set for Toddlers

April 7, 2014 By stitch11 8 Comments

Free Toy Weight Set Crochet Pattern

If you have ever had children, you will understand why I crocheted this weight set. Every-single-time I try to work out, my toddler wants to climb over, under and around me. She does her best to trip me… even if it means using her head.
Recently, she discovered my small weights. I told her she isn't allowed to use them because I was scared she would drop them on my toe. Yes, I said MY toe. Chances are- I would get hurt waaaaay before she actually would.
So here we have it, a free crochet pattern for weights. Now maybe she will be occupied long enough to let me work out for more than 5 minutes at a time. I can dream right? ๐Ÿ˜‰
Here is a photo of her demonstrating how to use the weights for the most outcome. I sure wish I had her energy!

How to use a crochet weight set.

Drawstring Backpack to Care-A-Lot

March 4, 2014 By stitch11 8 Comments

Free Drawsting Backpack Crochet Pattern

I am so excited- my daughter loves Care Bears as much as I did when I was her age…. and even loves watching the same movie over and over that I used to torture my older sisters with!

This pattern was inspired by my daughters imagination. About a month ago, she started playing with invisible Care Bears. Every time we would leave the house, she would make sure that my husband and I put all the (pretend) Care Bears in our pockets. If we told her there wasn't room in our pockets, she would put on her invisible backpack and ask us to help her put the bears in it.

It only took a few days of this to realize we needed to find her some real Care Bears. We searched many stores before I realized the only way I would be able to find them would be to order them online.ย ย  You can buy them at Amazon if you are searching for them too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ever since the bears arrived at my house, my daughter has been playing with them all day-every day….”You wanna play Care-A-Lot” is the every 5 minute question. But, she still needed a backpack ๐Ÿ™‚ So here it is, a free crochet pattern for the Drawstring Backpack to Care-A-Lot. I hope someone you know will get as much enjoyment out of this as my daughter.

Octopus Family- With Link To Free Crochet Pattern

February 4, 2014 By stitch11 1 Comment

Free Octopus Crochet Pattern - With ReviewEveryone is fascinated by these 8 legged under water creatures. They only take around 2 hours to crochet!
Around eight months ago I discovered this free pattern through ravelry. Squidoo.com wrote this pattern very simple. Make it once, and you will know it for life!
I also added a circle to the bottom of mine- so I could stuff them. I would make two small crochet circles and attach safety eyes onto them and then attach that to the octopus.
This is the ideal project when you need a break, some excitement, and some quick to sell projects. 4.5 gold stars from me!

Mini Bunny

Mini Bunny - Free Crochet Pattern

The Mini Bunny is a surprise Christmas gift for my daughter. A few months ago she told me she wanted me to make her a small bunny. She held her hands together into a bowl shape and said “I just wanna hold it like this.” At that moment I knew I would be making her one for Christmas.

I wanted to make the bunny small enough so she would be able to care for it like a real baby rabbit. After a couple failed bunnies.. I finally created one that was perfect!

Be sure to pin, share, and save this free crochet pattern. If not for Christmas, this will be perfect for Easter!

BobOmb! -with link to free pattern

November 14, 2013 By stitch11 3 Comments

BobOmb

A few days ago I discovered a free pattern for this little guy at The Yarn Box. It was almost like the computer started singing in opera while the screen was glowing brighter and brighter. My step son LOVES to play Mario Bro's! I plan on making him another item with the same theme… just haven't decided exactly what yet.

This free BobOmb pattern is designed and shared by WolfDreamer. Click HERE to view!
The pattern is perfect and VERY easy to follow! It worked up really quick too.

The only thing I did different was crocheting the eyes instead of using felt. To do that I made a magic circle and crocheted {SC, HDC, DC, HDC, SC, HDC, DC, HDC} all into the magic circle. Join to first SC and pull tight.

How would I rate this pattern? 5 gold stars!! I have no complaints at all! I could sit and adore this little BobOmb all day. ๐Ÿ™‚
