Five Free Crochet Bow Patterns

January 17, 2015 By Corina Leave a Comment

Five Free Crochet Bow Patterns

After making my recent- So Easy and So Perfect Bow pattern.. I decided I wanted to round up my favorite bow patterns from my own designs, and designs linked in the free crochet pattern directory, The Yarn Box.

If you didn't already know, I am an editor for The Yarn Box. My sister Miranda, from Work At Home Adventures, and I work together to share free crochet patterns and to promote traffic to other crochet designers.

If you haven't checked out the directory, hop on over and discover new favorite designs! The best way to help a designer.. is by sharing the links!

Anyways… back to the bows!

2. Boutique Bow by Stitch11 (that's me! 😉 )

3. So Easy and So Perfect Bow by Stitch11 (Hey!! That's me too! 🙂 )

Leaping Stripes – For Men – Pattern Review

December 2, 2014 By Corina 5 Comments

Leaping Stripes - For Men

My husband let me know that his feelings were hurt. 🙁 I had been crocheting for over two years, and have never made him a hat. AND, I have made everyone in both of our families hats.. and never made one for him. >See last years men's beanie Christmas gifts<

I tried to explain to him that I was waiting for the perfect design for him…. and that I didn't want to make him wear something that wasn't manly enough. It is hard to know if something designed with yarn is fit for the most picky manly man you know. >.< It wasn't that I didn't want to make him something… it was just that I had not came up or found the perfect design for him.

So, to solve our problem, I showed him a bunch of crochet beanie designs… and let him pick which one was his favorite. I also let him choose what yarn colors to use. He knew instantly when seeing the Leaping Stripes Beanie by Moogly that it was perfect for him.

I did make changes for the brim, but only because I really like making them a certain way. I did three rows of *2 HDC, 2 FPDC* repeated. One row of SC. And finished it off with one row of FPSC to make sure it is snug under the ears.

The hat fits him perfect and he loves it! Thanks Moogly!!!

Child Size Fox Hat – free crochet pattern

October 19, 2014 By Corina Leave a Comment

Child Size Fox Hat - Free Crochet Pattern

If you haven't already made the Fox Tail, you must check the Fox Tail Tutorial out right away! I used the same pet brush to fluff this basic medium weight beanie!  You do not have to fluff the beanie you make, it looked beautiful with clean stitches- My daughter is just asking for a fluffy type of fox costume. As much as I would love to make every piece of her costume with super fluffy yarn… it just isn't practical for me at the moment. Basic medium weight yarn is much easier to buy in the colors I need.
There will be more pieces to my daughters costume. If you want to make sure you never miss a post, make sure you subscribe! You can find the option to subscribe on the right side of this site. Thanks!!

Where's Waldo - free crochet pattern review

A friend of mine asked if I could squeeze in a small project to help her complete her sons Halloween costume. She sent me a link to what she had in mind.

To my surprise, it was a free Where's Waldo crochet hat pattern designed by Repeat Crafter Me! I love all of her designs! Her patterns are always very easy to follow and very true to the size.

I tried this one on my 3 year old and she says it fits perfect.

Pair this hat with a striped shirt and black round glasses and you will have Waldo! Thanks for the pattern Repeat Crafter Me!

Free Grumpy Carebear Crochet Pattern

Get the Ad-free PDF Pattern here!

Some of you may already know how much my daughter loves Care bears. A few months ago I made her the “Backpack to Care-A-Lot“. Ever since then, she has been begging me to make her a Grumpy Bear. Mr Grumpy has been pushed back on my list for too long! Finally, my most reliable customer came to me requesting one!  Of course this made my daughter happy because I would have to make a few of them during the pattern writing process. 😀  I hope you love this free Grumpy Care bear pattern as much as we do!!

Crochet New York Newsboy Hat and Diaper Cover

September 27, 2014 By Corina 1 Comment

https://stitch11.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/New-York-Newsboy-and-Diaper-Cover.jpg

An old friend of mine contacted me with this New York newsboy hat and diaper cover request.
I used my own (free) >Newborn Newsboy< hat crochet pattern.
Below you will find the N and Y crochet pattern.
The diaper cover can be found at >Crochet by Jennifer's Ravelry account<. It is a paid pattern but well worth those few bucks! She gives plenty of measurements to help you make sure everything is coming out the right gauge. The pattern is well written and simple to follow!
I couldn't be more happy with the outcome of the diaper cover! I have followed a free pattern for one in the past but it didn't turn out as perfect as this one.

Double the fun - Double the Flop - Free Crochet Pattern Adult-Child-TOddler

Late Sunday night, I had an idea for a new way to make a double pom pom beanie. I stayed up til early morning writing out my idea so I wouldn't forget. A friend of mine asked me to make her daughter a batman. I was planning on designing my own pattern, but a quick pattern search led me to an adorable free one by Tales Of Twisted Fibers!

I finished this fun guy in about 24 hours from the starting point. My thumb is pretty sore but I was able to power through the tight Single Crochet Stitches. 🙂  If you would like your own copy of the pattern check it out HERE!

Boinky the Baby Pig

Boinky The Baby Pig - Free Crochet Pattern

The idea of Boinky the Baby Pig came from my daughter- like most of my designs. We like to browse images of adorable animals. When we came across some  baby pigs, she was taken over by their major cuteness. After looking at about 3,476 baby pigs, she asked me to make her one. She told me it's name would be Boinky. So there ya have it, a free crochet pattern for this adorable and simple baby piglet.

Weight Set for Toddlers

April 7, 2014 By Corina 8 Comments

Free Toy Weight Set Crochet Pattern

If you have ever had children, you will understand why I crocheted this weight set. Every-single-time I try to work out, my toddler wants to climb over, under and around me. She does her best to trip me… even if it means using her head.
Recently, she discovered my small weights. I told her she isn't allowed to use them because I was scared she would drop them on my toe. Yes, I said MY toe. Chances are- I would get hurt waaaaay before she actually would.
So here we have it, a free crochet pattern for weights. Now maybe she will be occupied long enough to let me work out for more than 5 minutes at a time. I can dream right? 😉
Here is a photo of her demonstrating how to use the weights for the most outcome. I sure wish I had her energy!

BobOmb! -with link to free pattern

November 14, 2013 By Corina 3 Comments

BobOmb

A few days ago I discovered a free pattern for this little guy at The Yarn Box. It was almost like the computer started singing in opera while the screen was glowing brighter and brighter. My step son LOVES to play Mario Bro's! I plan on making him another item with the same theme… just haven't decided exactly what yet.

This free BobOmb pattern is designed and shared by WolfDreamer. Click HERE to view!
The pattern is perfect and VERY easy to follow! It worked up really quick too.

The only thing I did different was crocheting the eyes instead of using felt. To do that I made a magic circle and crocheted {SC, HDC, DC, HDC, SC, HDC, DC, HDC} all into the magic circle. Join to first SC and pull tight.

How would I rate this pattern? 5 gold stars!! I have no complaints at all! I could sit and adore this little BobOmb all day. 🙂

Crochet Puppy Puppet

Last year I had written puppet patterns for a Snake and a Lion. My daughter loved them both so much that I knew I wanted to make more. I have finally sat down and figured out an even BETTER puppet than ever before 🙂 I made this one with cotton yarn so we can also use it during bath time! I hope you can give some smiles by using this free pattern too!

The Ninja Turtle Mask is in the theme of the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Crochet a number of these in every color for each of your ninjas. #crochet #crochetlove #crochetlife #crochetaddict #crochetpattern #crochetinspiration #ilovecrochet #crochetgifts #crochet365 #addictedtocrochet #yarnloveDuring this last week, I have tried and tested countless crochet masks. My goal was to make 4 ninja masks in the theme of the TMNT. 9 masks later I finally got it! I love the technique of making this mask and am very proud to say I came up with it. Now that I have made so many (using this pattern I have written out for you) I already have many more ideas for masks that I plan to test out in the upcoming weeks. So find a ninja or superhero near you and create them a mask of their own!Crochet Ninja Mask

Ear Warmer/Ninja Mask

August 7, 2013 By Corina 2 Comments

Ear Warmer/Ninja Mask

This Morning my daughter, Ella, woke up in a slightly sad mood. She told me she missed her aunt, uncle, and cousins. When I told her her cousins both started school today, she looked as if her heart was broken. So I decided to make her something that I was hoping would give her a smile. I did a quick search at The Yarn Box (with her watching over my shoulder) When we came across this Super Hero Mask/Ear Warmer she gasped for air and ran to get her miracas… which she calls her “ninja sticks”.
The free pattern is written by The Worsted Crochet Blog… Ever and was extremely easy to follow and worked up fast. I did make mine 4 rows shorter…. other than that, I followed the pattern to a T.
Ella loves her “Ninja Mask”! I may still add a pink bow so she can use it this fall when it starts to get cooler out. 🙂

Infant Overalls – Size 3 Months

April 28, 2013 By Corina 12 Comments

Free 3 Month Crochet Overall patternAbout a year ago, a friend of mine took some amazing photos for me of the Chloe Hat and for my About Me. I promised her I would make her baby (who was still in her belly) a crochet item. I have started making things for her so many times in the past but never really loved anything enough to give her as a big “Thank You!” Last week I came across a pattern by Busting Stitches for a newborn suspenders and bow tie photo prop. That is the moment I decided I wanted to make clothing and a bow tie. I honestly wasn't wanting to write a pattern but after searching and searching for a free boy clothing pattern…. I had no choice but create something of my own.
Wyatt (pictured above) is 13 lbs and is 4 months old. Since this is my first time really making clothing, I am not exactly sure if this outfit would be 0-3, 3-6, or 0-6 months in size- so “3 months” is what I will call it 😉  I did actually use measurements and 3-6 month clothing as a guide, but Wyatt is in 0-3 month clothing so “3 months” really seems safe.

This pattern is a very simple crochet pattern and ideal for even the crochet beginner. If you are not up for the “Foundation Chain” you can use the regular technique of chaining and shouldn't have any issues.

Toy Airplane for Avery

February 5, 2013 By Corina 8 Comments

Free-Crochet-Pattern-Toy-Airplane

While crocheting the Turban for Miss Happy for my best online friend Andrea, I was wanting to come up with something to mail her son, Avery,  as a gift.  I know Avery loves cars and trucks and probably has every cool car and truck that is sold in stores and online. So I decided to make him this awesome little airplane! It didn't take long before my daughter started crying for an airplane also, so I made her a pink one too!  This is my first time crocheting Amigurumi and I must admit… I think I may start a new addiction! I never realized how fun and easy these would be to make! I hope you and Avery enjoy this free crochet pattern for a toy airplane as much as I and my daughter does.
